We've landed
It seems our downward spiral has sort of landed somewhere. No major damage today.
We received a postcard from friend and supporter Josh Boyd. The Boyds are in Fiji on an LST trip. The postcard arrived in 9 days. Wow. Also, a few days ago, a Christmas card we sent to a supporter came back to us. It was actually mailed in the US by our friend Bogdan in Beverly Hills, CA. Wrong address.
We both got our eyes checked. No waiting and since we arrived before 3:00, the policlinika was open. She had even a computer-run machine to check your eyes. But there was the traditional eye chart--in Russian. Fortunately, I learned the actual name of most of the Russian letters. It's not something you use very often but I don't think I did too badly.
Olya returned from her camp. Lena met with her a while and then we had our English class. She had read in English on the Narnia Chronicles while she was away. She is a determined learner. Pray that God opens her heart and mind to the Truth and the Life. Alesha has cancelled his classes till September.
We enjoyed Shvidko lunch with the Broadways and learned about their trip to Bila Tserkva. They are going back tomorrow.
The guy to change the refrigerator plug didn't come today but is coming tomorrow. The fire inspector wasn't in his office when we were supposed to call. Still pray about that one.
Sergiy Lyakh left for the USA today. He is Pepperdine bound.
And it's newsletter season at the UEC and mid-year financial report time. Always a blast. Lera is doing a great job with the newsletter so far and Vitaly is doing well with his new role.
It looks like Yushchenko won't dissolve parliament. Protests are intensifying in Kyiv but still small. Yulia--the radical that she is--called for the parliament members from her party and the president's party to resign as lawmakers and this would force the president to dissolve parliament. She is so creative. If she had been on the Titanic, she would have tried to convince passengers to push against the iceberg and then repair damage to the ship. Not that this new government is going to be the Titanic, maybe the Hindenberg.

I am sorry about your unpleasant chain if events. We will pray. I'll send you or post a good bananna pancakes recepie. For blueberry pankaces I just use my regular recepie, then scatter some bluberries on top of freshly poured pancakes before I turn them. I tried a few different ways but this seems to give best results.
