Mid Week Blog
Monday we had the planning meeting for out outreach retreat coming up in June. Ten people came which was more than I thought. One church member has already donated almost $200 to help cover costs. Vitaly Samodin has been doing a great job with this. We've also been corresponding with the 5 from Laurel Church of Christ who will be with us for the retreat. Please pray that unbelievers will come. People are beginning to invite their friends, neighbors, and relatives. I'll be inviting my English class which had a new person join tonight.
We also had a good planning meeting Sunday night for our summer youth conference. We spend a week wrestling with a little-known book of the Bible--this year, Numbers. Always fun to see what people find in these places of Scripture we don't often visit.
I had some kind of weird stomach bug today. Really knocked me out for most of the day. Still taught the English class, though.
Paul Prill arrives on Friday; we are excited about that. We are going to take him to Poland for a few days. I have to leave the country to extend my registration and we just decided to head for Krakow--it's only a 24-hour train ride away! Lena is going to the Polish Embassy tomorrow to get her visa.
We are also working on the UEC newsletter this week. That thing is always a huge pain. We are now printing them here. No matter what we do it seems never to turn out like we want and it always takes longer than I want. And some kind of grammar mistake always seem to get past me--usually because I am reading Illustrator files and not regular Word files and I have read it so many times by the end I just can't see the words!
Pray for Sergiy as he has to deal with all my suggestions for the newsletter!
