I've been blogless. Had a cold but I think I am mostly over it. I have also had trouble sleeping, too much cough medicine I guess. I finally taped aluminum foil over our bedroom window today since the sun starts rising at about 3:45 and we face the east.

I did go to a church council meeting Thursday night. That's probably why my cold got worse. We had a good meeting. We decided to call the church to a week of forgiveness. Everyone in the church that is upset with anyone for any reason has been asked to go and talk to those people and try to resolve it. If they can't, people are asked to involve others until it can be resolved. We are then going to meet on Saturday to discuss any church-wide issues that there are disagreements about. I think it's very healthy and I am very proud of the church leadership for being so maturing in recognizing disagreement and dealing with it in a biblical way. It's very impressive, in my mind.

I finished reading one book while I was sick and watched part of one World Cup game. I still don't get football/soccer. Maybe when Ukraine plays next week it will be more exciting. The Netherlands and Serbia/Montenegro just didn't do much for me. There are 64 matches to determine the world champion. It runs through July and games are being held all over Germany.

Monday is another holiday in Ukraine: Pentecost or Holy Trinity Day as the Orthodox call it. Get some reeds and leave them on your apartment floor for a blessing from God. Then, take the day off. The UEC is closed but the staff work a half day. Workers will be finishing wallpapering the study room. Thanks to Sergiy who has worked hard on that.
