Not sure where the week went. Seems everyone is taking turns being sick. Lera at the UEC was out for about 2 weeks. I didn't feel well for a couple of days. Lena was battling something too. It's getting cold here at nights, nevery really sure what the weather is going to be during the day.

I've enjoyed meeting with Olya, the one surviving English class student. She is beginning to speak English! I am excited for her. I am also looking forward to our reading more from the Bible. She is very motivated to learn English and has a little interest in faith. We were also glad to see the return of our Wisconsin diaspora. I saw most of them this week.

Tonight we said good-bye to Lena and Oksana who are going to France to study for about 7 months. I put together a powerpoint slideshow and we used the projector the church just bought to remind us of what we were doing this summer. It is always difficult to say good-bye. There were a lot of people and a lot of food. I had to fight for the over to make my oatmeal cookies.

This week we decided to get rid of about half of the UEC's videos. In about a year's time, DVD has just swept the Kyiv market and almost no one checks out videos any more. They don't even look at them. Sort of a pity. So we are giving them away for a donation and will use those funds to buy some DVDs.

It's been a stressful week. Sometimes I feel pulled beyond what I can bare. It seems so much effort is expended on trying to keep peace, put out fires, come to understanding and agreement, overcome differences in personality and conflict management. Sometimes things are such a mess I just want to walk out the door and never come back. It is only God's mercy that keeps me going. I am certain it is nothing of me.

Movie Night has been switched to Saturday. More cookies. A small group is emerging. We hope we can share God's love as we build relationships. What a slow process.
