Music City USA
Lena and I just spent several days in Nashville after I finally got over my terrible cold. We had a nice time. We spent several hours looking for the supplements I need to take for my fatigue and though they weren't cheap, they seem to be helping now. Let's pray that continues.
We enjoyed dinner with Jonathan and his fiance. Though the restaurant was incredibly loud and I had to shout some unsolicited getting married advice, the food was great and the conversation enjoyable. We also enjoyed several nice meals with the Prills. They are always very generous to us. Thanks to the Prills, Lena finally made it to a real Japanese restaurant and had real sushi. I had some chicken. We also enjoyed a nice lunch after church on Sunday. We were at Acklen Avenue this Sunday. A nice church of about 70 people. That stood in contrast to the 400 at Laurel or the 1000 at Otter Creek. I enjoyed being there because we saw so many people that we have slowly gotten to know over the last 8 years of Acklen Avenue being a part of our life in Kyiv. Several have been to Kyiv. Others have been generous to us. Many others have prayed. With a few, we even have some inside jokes. It was also a blessing to see all the kids running around and several newborns.
We were also at Lipscomb for a bit and saw the Ezell Building. We were walking around and Paul Prill was finishing a class as we walked by. We also had an eye exam from Dr. Jerkins and he helped us get new glasses. Of course, they won't be ready until we leave and someone will have to bring them to Kyiv later. It saved us a bunch of money and Dr. Jerkins was generous in his time with us. Our eyes were dilated and so we had to stay there several hours waiting for my vision to be restored. Lots of other little things happened to fill up time in Nashville.
We are back at my parents' house now. One more full day in the USA. Lots of cramming to do now. With new weight limits from the airlines, it gets harder and harder to pack.
And congratulations to Loren and Carrie Wisehart on the birth of Hannah!! Some of our readers know the Wiseharts. I also saw Eric Paisley (sp) this Sunday. I didn't recognize him but Paul claims it was him. He is working for an accounting company. Who knew? The place we went in Green Hills was populated by Lipscomb faces. It was odd to see so many somewhat familiar faces.
Oh, and by the way, Lipscomb is finally beginning to build/re-invent a fine arts center. I may make my first contribution.
Pictures are coming soon.

I totally forgot to mention my on-going war with FirstTennessee bank. Is it just something about me and banks? No matter which country I am in, banks seem to hate me.
That's great news about the Future Fine Arts Center (which is the name they're going to use, right? I mean, that's what it's been known as for the past 15 years+....)
I hope you got hot, minty towels on your flight.
We are back. No mint but we did get a hot towel at the beginning of the flight. We were on United. It was the best meal I have ever eaten on a place. Everything else was pretty mediocre, though. It's incredibly cold and snowy here!
They are remodeling, building on to Burton as much as I understand. I think that's public knowledge.
Hope everyone on that side of the ocean is fine.
