Not a very exciting week this week. The political crisis has grown tiring. The Constitutional Court hasn't ruled yet. There are rallies and all that but it seems most are just tired of the whole thing. The feeling seems to be that we will have early elections but they will not be in May, maybe the end of June.

As for the mission, I finished three grant proposals that will hopefully help with some much needed funding. I thank Paul Prill for helping us in many ways, including with the grant proposals. I have also--finally--registered for fall classes at ACU (the program wasn't working even though I was told it's all fine--finally, I was told that there was indeed a problem with the program). I'll be Greeking, propheting, Old Testamenting (all at ACU Mon or Tues), and Romansing during two weekends in Dallas. Not my favorite schedule. But I guess first semester is not supposed to be ideal. Since we have never even been to Abilene, it still all seems very surreal. I know so little about how things work at ACU. We also have a lot of questions that we are just beginning to face. We still really aren't allowing ourselves to even think about most of these things since we know a little hitch at the embassy could delay it all by weeks or even months. So pray for us as we face all this unknown!

Tuesday we got a call at 6:00PM saying two people were ready to come over for a ministry meeting. We, of course, had no idea a meeting was scheduled. Little communication problem. But we decided to meet and had a great meeting till about 11PM. The meal was a little rushed but digestible. Friday night I hosted our students who are traveling again to Wisconsin this summer on a program that allows international students to work four months in the US. I met with one student Thursday afternoon and the others Friday night. White chili and cornbread set the tone as we discussed spiritual erosion and conflict resolution. Another late night meeting. Of course, we had our small group meeting Wednesday night. Other meetings were canceled this week because students were either in exams or working on research papers. It means the summer is not far away. I have also enjoyed some other very good conversations this week but since this is a public blog, I can't share the details. But the kingdom is slowly being built. It's not easy, it's rarely ever pretty, but the kingdom moves forward.

The church is also thinking about trying to have a retreat this summer but it looks like money is going to be tight since we continue to raise funds for Natalya's chemotherapy. She had another treatment on Wednesday this week. Keep praying for her and pray that the funds will be available for her to receive all the treatments she needs. We are running out of funds here in Kyiv, or the pace of treatment has almost consumed all available funds and we just can't keep up. Consider making a gift to this fund.

Lena is about to finish her financial accounting class. I think that's what it's called. She will have a break for two weeks and then start two more. Hopefully she will graduate this summer.

I have the worst luck with raisins. Not too long ago, I found a nail in a bag of raisins I was using to make cookies. Last night I was eating some raisins and came across a rock. What's up with that? Today I stood in line for what seemed forever trying to buy some white beans.
