Saturday found me recovering from, apparently, some bad grapes I ate late Friday night. I won't go into details. Little political news since the country is slowing down for the Easter holiday. The prime minister was supposed to speak to about 15,000 who had gathered at Maidan but apparently changed his mind. Later that day, he showed up at a football/soccer game in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. To me that says a lot.

Many TV channels tonight are broadcasting the liturgies of several Orthodox churches. Many people will stay in the churches till sunrise. They have taken baskets of pascha, special Easter bread, dyed eggs, bottles of wine, etc. to be blessed by priests sprinkling or more like splashing baskets with holy water. President Yuschenko and his wife Katerina were at St. Vladimir's as they usually are. We saw them there last year as we were walking around.

Tonight we just stayed at home. I worked for quite a while on a lot of carrot cake and banana bread. We are having a "sweet table" at church after the assembly. Oleg came for the weekly 24 viewing. It was very upsetting for me. I think I take it too seriously. I was literally reminding myself tonight that it's just a TV show. Lena's mom also came to spend the holiday with us and to take a break.
