Not so great weekend

My cold persisted over the weekend, the second cold I have had this year. And now it seems, in my great munificence, I have passed it off to Lena. Neither of us went to church today, home with ugly colds. Now I have to get better so I can take care of her like she took care of me. I guess the celebration of our anniversary is even further postponed. Today we also learned that Igor Ouglev's grandfather died today.

Also, this week we learned that the immigration laws have changed yet again. On January 22 they decided that you can't submit immigration petitions to embassies. So we sent ours to a Texas processing center and they promptly sent it to the California processing center. March 21 they announce that embassies can now accept those applications. Embassies process petitions usually six months faster than US processing centers so it looks like we will be submitting more documents, but this time in Kyiv. I have an email in to the embassy awaiting word. They have no posted on their website how to submit your documents. Before you could just go do it. Then they changed it to having to make an appointment and then it was gotten rid of all together. Now it's back!! Hopefully, it will mean we will be able to keep our original re-entry/departure schedule. It has been very frustrating. I know for sure why people hire lawyers to do this sort of thing. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone who will assure you that you aren't going to go mad!

Immigration process is extremely frustrating. Though you will be much more frustrated you will not go mad! Hang in there!
