Odd News from Kyiv
Wednesday, a tiget killed a worker at the Kyiv zoo. We can see the zoo's bison from the UEC second floor. The government keeps tantalizing us with news about the Gangadze affair. Ex-president Kuchma gave testimony today; they also announced that the police were following Gongadze up until he disappeared. Yushchenko, meanwhile, has gone to Sumy to visit the grave of his mother who died 40 days ago. It's believed by the Orthodox that on the fortieth day after death, the person's soul is then judged and sent to heaven or hell.
We're still freezing and getting more snow. Hopefully temps on Sunday should give some relief from this month of below-freezing temperatures.
On the home front, Lena and I are figuring out how to rearrange, store, or hide some of the old furniture in our apartment to make way for a new couch!!
