Wednesday Night Hospitality
Wednesday nights are our hospitality nights. We usually invite one or two people over from the church community for a nice meal and long conversation. This week, we invited about 12 people (pictured below--some had already left when the picture was taken). Most of these are going to the US to work this summer--from the Wisconsin Dells to Atlantic City to Vermont. They will be gone for about four months. In the past, we have noticed that this summer adventure can greatly erode a young person's faith. So tonight we talked for several hours about the faith challenges that await them, about managing conflict, and about trying to plant some trees to prevent spiritual erosion.
We also enjoyed some fresh-baked banana bread, chicken a la king, traditional salad, and mashed potatoes.
I don't have any comments about the new pope but maybe some of you do.
