Yuschenko in the USA and Other Notes
Today the president of Ukraine Viktor Yuschenko addressed a rare joint session of Congress. CNN buried the report so here is a link it and a view from the BBC. Congress persons applauded and wore orange. Yuschenko called for closer ties with the US.
Tonight we invited two church members, Lera and Anya, over for dinner and to discuss some church matters. Though the topic was at moments difficult, it was a great blessing to be together. Also in the news, thanks to Sergiy's work, I may have an opportunity to teach a class with a university in Kyiv--at the UEC. The university is interested in hosting two classes at the UEC with one of them being taught by me, and so we are working on how we might reach out to these students and introduce them to faith as we help their English language skills improve.
We are still enjoying very warm temps in Kyiv. Praise the Lord.
I'm also glad to announce that we are going to be able to start some repair work on a church member's house thanks to the generosity of a bunch of people and two churches from east Tennessee. So far, $2000 has been donated to the cause. Hopefully next week some of the work can begin.
