A Good Sunday
This Sunday Lena and I enjoyed lunch and a long conversation with Sergiy and Liza, two ICU seniors. Sergiy has a nice apartment in the city center and we spent the afternoon there. They are one of several dating couples in the church. Lena and I do what we can to minister to those who are dating, as they struggle with relationship questions. Sergiy drove(!) us to the church meeting. And it was a great church meeting. For one thing, I didn't have any special responsibilities because Misha and Dima--father and son--preached! They spoke about the beautitudes and the joy Jesus gives every believer. It was a great time. Their whole family has come to Christ and each family member serves in multiple ways. We then went to the place I call Boolie-boolie (it has some Ukrainian name close to that) with Sergiy Lyakh. I spent much of Saturday writing grad school recs for Sergiy.
Lena and I have also been discussing our finances and plans for the future. We are thankful for several people who have responded to a request we had made about our financial needs.
We also want to point out that Vitaly Samodin is now raising funds so that he can continue to work full-time in ministry. His blog is here with a complete proposal if any blog readers might be interested or might know someone who would be interested.
And it snowed today!
