A Big Saturday
Today was a big day. It started when I realized that the attachment I had sent to the UEC board didn't attach and thus no one had received a copy of the budget except one person. I then realized I only had one copy, and so at 8.45 I raced out of the Prills to find someplace to copy the budget. Of course, most places weren't open yet but fortunately, The UPS Store opened promptly by 9 and I was back to the Prills just as everyone one was gathering for the great breakfast Paul had prepared. We also enjoyed fresh pineapple David had brought from Hawaii. It was a very good board meeting, longer discussion that usual. And we made some important decisions that will affect the UEC for some time. I appreciated hearing the wisdom of everyone there and receiving their encouragement.
After the board left, I went to the grocery for Lena--we had run out of Nyquil and needed some more chicken and possibly Gatorade. Later in the day, Scott and Lisa Owings picked me up for a nice dinner in Brentwood and lots of good conversation. We then met with Holly and TJ who are thinking about a longer-term mission experience. So it was lots of talking and trying to learn to listen. Lena still feels terrible, so it was sort of strange being a part of these events without her nearby.
Church on Sunday. It's still strange getting up so early to go to church. I think tomorrow I have to leave about 8.15 to get there for Sunday school. I have a feeling this will make more sense when we have children. But now it's just crazy.
