As you may know, Krakow is home to the story of "Schindler's List" and is not very far from Auschwitz. We don't go to Auschwitz because I am certain I would never recover from the experience of that place. It is terrible enough to walk the streets of the Jewish quarter, knowing what happened here. There are less than 300 Jews in the city and most of the synagogues are museums as is this one. The Jewish Quarter was just about lifeless when I was first there in 1995 but today it is coming alive with cafes and galleries.

Krakow also has the largest surviving medieval city square in Europe. It's under reconstruction now but here's a nice shot of the trading hall in the center of the square.

Mostly, when we are in Poland, we just walk around and shop at some of the huge stores there. This year we found some great deals at IKEA. We also found the solution to the US gas crisis--it comes in red and blue.

It was a real Coke. We have real Coke in Kyiv. The hard thing to find is Pepsi Light. Nonexistent in Kyiv. Russia has it though. Thanks for reading.
