Last Week

Last week sort of disappeared. I know we had some people over for dinner, well two little meetings over dinner. And then we went to Poland to renew my visa, so that's where we were most of the time. We came back earlier than expected since we couldn't buy the return train tickets in Ukraine and have to wait to buy them in Krakow. So, when we got there, there weren't places on the day we wanted to return. Anyway, we are back in Kyiv and now preparing to celebrate Lena's birthday on Sunday. I have been trying to make a black forest cakebut have gotten upset with my cakes which started to crumble for no known reason (lack of shortening/had to butter substitute) and the cherry filling I bought turns out to be a bunch of cherries with their pits in some kind of sugar liquid. Now will have to do that. More about our Poland trip later.
