It's been a couple of busy days, especially for Lena. Her parents have been here. They agreed to renovate the public entryway to the UEC, and it's turned into quite a project. I've made a few trips to supply stores but Lena has made more. With the walls being in incredibly horrible condition, it's taken much longer to tile the walls. We left the UEC tonight at about 11 AM. Her parents are staying there. We also had our movie night tonight--more cookies, a movie, and fortunately, the students keep showing up even though we have to keep switching from Friday to Saturday and back again. Thanks to Oleg's engineering, we were able to watch the movie. The speakers we bought worked (thankfully) but we are still missing one cord before our video projection system will be at 100%. At the electronics store today, we were told that the cord we needed would have to be ordered and it would cost about $30. I was in a little shock over that. Didn't order it. Maybe we will find it cheaper somewhere else.
Friday night we had a gathering for all the cells. I made cookies for that meeting and with the ham and cheese sandwiches Vitaly prepared, we enjoyed sharing about how our groups had been going. We had worship, prayer groups, and also a quiz on Colossians. The groups had been studying Colossians for four weeks and we had a fun little quiz to see how much we learned.
Our next theme area is the life of Solomon and Ecclesiastes. We developed a daily reading schedule to help guide us through those interesting texts.
Vitaly had day surgery today; he'll be out of commission for a while. We have one week left to prepare for the arrival of three of the UEC's board members. It's much tougher since Vitaly is only part-time and everyone has been suffering from illness and bike wrecks.
We have another big meeting after church tomorrow. These tend to take a long time.

Sadly, the $30 price for the cord you need isn't unrealistic. Video and audio cables have gotten very expensive. Supposedly the quality's gone up but I don't know that the human eye would detect the difference. You might find it cheaper from a US e-tailer, but I'd recomend biting the bullet and buying the one you found if you want to avoid a headache.
