Cold!!

It's very cold in Kyiv this weekend. It was so cold in the church building; I was freezing. I preached this morning on Hebrews 10. Several people were gone for the weekend, some were sick, and we had several first-time visitors.
Natalya was there. She is doing better since her last chemotherapy treatment. Though the doctor can't be 100% sure, she has three more of the expensive ($2,200) chemotherapy treatments and she now has to take these pills between treatments ($500 for a set between treatments). The church have given about $600 in the last ten days and thanks to a gift from her daughter, enough funds are available for her next treatment (sixth one) that will be in about 1.5 weeks. Meanwhile, she has to take these expensive pills. Apparently, they have stopped the growth of the tumors and these pills are trying to kill the remaining cancer cells. The continued treatments will hopefully further shrink the tumors or keep them from coming back. There is about $150 (out of $2,200) for the 7th treatment. If you would like to help (and she/we really need your help) please send a gift to Central Church of Christ, PO Box 38, Athens, TN 37303.
Pictured above are some of the students going to the US to work this summer. We had them over Friday night for their departure orientation as we call it. Next, you'll find my mother-in-law and me "cracking eggs," an old Easter tradition. And last, a chicken pot pie from a while back. All from scratch. It took hours to make.
In other news, Anton is back from Budapest and is about to graduate. Several other church members are graduating from university in the next few weeks: Max, Sasha, Vanya. Others will finish later in the summer. Please pray for them as they face these changes in life. Pray for the several dating couples in the church as well. And remember to pray for our grant proposals!
