We are back from Krakow and will be posting some pics. Here is Paul Prill with his Polish trout. We dined in a "genuine" Polish eatery the first night. Turns out the Polish word for vareniky is perogi which we thought was peroshki. I realize not everyone will catch that but we were a little surprised when we ordered lots of varenicky, and not peroshki!!

This is where it pays to be an American consumer. The frozen food aisles are generously stocked with several verieties of pierogi(with colorful pictures of varenicky). My favorite are potato and cheese. Of course, they are not as good as homemade, but good enough for ten minuete prep. I am surprised Dr. Prill was not aware of this.
