More Snow

The snow melted a bit and then we woke up to about 6 inches of fresh powder. It's also turned quite cold, about 18 F right now. It was quite an adventure walking to church this morning. It was a great blessing to be in the assembly this morning. We had a great crowd. I preached on the indescribable, all-embracing love of the Father from Luke 15, the Father who seeks the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. The Father who longs for his creation to be willing to be found--to accept the new robe he wants to wrap us in, the new ring he longs to put on our finger, the sandals he has prepared to put on our feet.

We had a few visitors and the church stayed for a long time, talking and visiting and celebrating Katya Mazneva's birthday which is today. We also took another special collection for Natalya. So far, the church itself has given 12,700 hryvnya (about $2,500). My family in the US has given some as has at least one other person in the USA. We think there is enough for the first and second rounds of chemotherapy. Natalya goes for her first treatment February 21.

We ate lunch at Puzata Khata with Oleg. He came over late last night and we started watching season 3 of 24. We are hooked. It's our Saturday night entertainment.
