A Long Week

After our trip to Krakow, Poland, it seemed like we didn't slow down. We arrived back in Kyiv on Friday and immediately had several meetings and a small group. The following Saturday, about 15 of us went to Pushe Voditsa, a recreation area outside Kyiv, for shashlik, Armenian-style shishkabob. We gathered wood and built a big fire by a small lake. We stayed till rather late and then waited for a taxi van to crowd onto. Sunday was the celebration of the Days of Kyiv, but we mostly stayed at home. Lena and Paul venutred out for a walk and in search of some medieval Ukrainian music. Paul left early Monday morning (about 5:00AM). The rest of the week flew by, catching up with what had been overlooked since Paul arrived. Lena is still studying for the GMAT, and I have begun another distance learning course, this one on church planting. We were at the UEC quite late, covering everything with plastic in the library. An air conditioner was installed today and we spent several hours at the UEC cleaning up and trying to put everything back together. Sergiy has worked tirelessly in this project. Hopefully, it will help us through some of these hot summer days, and since it also heats, it may also help keep us more warm in the winter. To say the least, we are all excited. Monday, the group from Laurel Church of Christ and we will be very busy for 10 days. Not sure how many blogs there will be this coming week.

As for Ukraine, I am getting a little tired of the news.
