This morning at Nivky, Dima Zhyvov preached. I think it was the first time I heard one of his sermons. He did a great job, and I was inspired. I remember meeting his sister Lena several years ago and Lena and her friend Anya coming to their first cell meeting. Now, they are all followers of Jesus, and both Misha (Dima's dad) and Dima preach. Tanya is active in the church as well. Lena is in France studying. Anya leads in many ways. What a great blessing they are to all of us.

We then had a church council meeting. Fortunately, this time we had some food so we weren't so famished, and finished by just after three. Of course, we only dealt with two items and sent the rest to subcommittee. Pretty professional, huh?

Lena's parents left today though the renovation work isn't quite finished. They have to go to work and will finish later in the week. It's quite a transformation in our entryway.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be 4 C or about 38 F, as the high temperature!!! WOW!! Still no heat in the building though we are hoping this week the city will turn the heat on. Everyone is complaining about escalating prices--gas, electricity, bread. I guess they will wait as long as they can to turn on the heat.

Here's a recipe for pumpkin pancakes if anyone wants to try it. I am waiting to spot some good pumpkin around KPI metro. Should be any day now.
